[edit] mintInstall
mintInstall lets you install lots of software with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Not just one, as you have to authorize the install process. Find software to install at The Linux Mint Software Portal: http://www.linuxmint.com/software/
[edit] MintUpdate
Mints own update-software, inspired by the insecurity behind Ubuntu Update Manager.
MintUpdate gives certain updates different safety-levels from 1 to 5 depending on how safe the update is to install on the system.
Level 4 and 5 are hidden by default since only very experienced users need those updates.
This will prevent new users from ruining their system by updating critical parts of the system that may not work with their hardware.
[edit] MintDesktop
A desktop configuration tool for easy configuration of the desktop.
Easily control what you want to appear on your desktop
Also network browsing made super easy (through fusesmb)
[edit] MintAssistant
MintAssistant will appear during first log-in for users, asking a few questions to ease the linux experience.
It currently asks if the user want to enable or disable fortune-cookies in the terminal,
if the root account should be enabled or disabled,
and if Mint should use MintDisk or fstab to mount NTFS-partitions. (not for Daryna)
[edit] MintUpload
MintUpload lets users upload files to a server by just right-clicking on it and press upload.
The user will be given a link he can give to other people for quick and easy sharing.
Files only remain for a short period long enough for them to be shared. After all Mint's resources are not endless.
[edit] Mint-Space
The larger sibling of MintUpload
[edit] MintWifi
Drivers for quite a few wlan gadgets and mintWifi.py
Located in /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintWifi
[edit] MintMenu
The MintMenu is a python-coded menu featured in Linux Mint. Text, icon and colors are fully customizable. It shares the same hotlinks to software as the Gnome main menu.
[edit] MintDisk - obsolete from Daryna
A software that mounts NTFS-partitions easily. Since Ubuntu 7.10 implemented something similar, MintDisk will be removed in Linux Mint 4.0 Daryna.
