mintUpdate
Because the Ubuntu Update Manager encourages users to install all software updates, regardless of their safety level, the Linux Mint team created its own update manager: mintUpdate.
mintUpdate assigns each update a safety levels between 1 and 5, depending on how safe the update is to install on the system.
Levels 4 and 5 are hidden by default, as only very experienced users should attempt to apply these updates.
