Please do not double post - one post is enough
And please read the forum headlines before you post - you have posted in Archives for Cassandra and Bianca
Normal forum behavior helps you get an answer - this does not

If you want the Mint Grub to be the default repair grub (even if it's not broken) and how you do it in

This can even be done from a Live CD

This is somewhat hard to understand.
You installed XP - is Vista still there?
All windows installs overwrites the MBR without the slightest consideration for what's in there already, so if you install XP all you get is XP. Possible to fix - easily for Linux. For dualbooting XP and Vista see
http://apcmag.com/5485/dualbooting_vista_and_xp
that's by no means straight forward.
Can you boot into Daryna? It seems so.
The kernel has to be loaded to get any interface, but it seems to me that maybe you start the wrong alternative for Suse or some such. If Suse has started using UUID now you may have ended up in UUID hell. You could hopefully use this tutorial in Suse with the necessary adjustments
http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php ... _a_problem
However it's not easy to sort out what really happens
