Hello newfy78
Welcome to Mint.
The list is a good idea but having done all that work can I suggest that you do a remaster of your system so that if you have to re-install its just a matter of loading from your backup. If you check the forum it really is very easy to do.

A tip is to use [Transmission as the default torrent client, it automagically opens the right ports!]
...and [Brasero for burning is IMHO a better choice.] - or
...and try [gmusicbrowser for audiocollections! - [Click to install!]
Code: Select all
apt install transmission -y
Code: Select all
apt install brasero -y

Really?!curtiswtaylorjr wrote:It may be me but I just spent 2 hours trying to backup some files on a multisession dvd using brassero which I previously thought highly of. I ended up loading k3b and completed the job in 10 minutes. It's k3b for me from now on.
I never had any problems, but there you go!
Freedom of choice is GREAT!

If you want an alternative to Ghost, use Clonezilla, if you want to make a bootable image of your installed system use Remastersys.
