Minty-Fresh Icon theme(updated to 3.0)

Post by merlwiz79 »

UPDATE:
linuxmint-art.org and gnome-look.org.
Preview here as well: http://www.linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopi ... 79#p102279
I am trying to mix XubuntuStudio and Mint-Green icon themes into something more mint color.
The mint logo is from cathbard. http://cathbard.com/
Not replacing every icon with a custom one though.
This is all I got at the moment.

Any thoughts welcome.

Well personally I enjoy green (it's always been my favourite colour, fortunately). So I'd say yes, they look very high quality, simplistic yet beautiful.

They look ok, but I like the style that the KDE editions icons have. I like the way the folders sit in the KDE edition, it gives them a modern look without being overdone.

Just my two cents, since you asked for opinions.

I think the green in these icons is too intense... for lack of a better word. maybe too saturated? Something closer to the green in the Mint logo would be much nicer IMO. Otherwise the icons look modern and beautiful.

Dito!
While I really like the idea of what you're doing, I think the green tint should lean itself more to the one found in the LM-logo.
Apart from that, thums up! 8)

I vote that we include this theme in Felicia. I am using it right now, and it is simply delightful. Thank you for your time and effort, it is well appreciated.

The thing with the color is I searched google for Mint Green and this was the most common color that showed up.(The background color in the preview)
Then I just adjusted how light or dark it was for each icon.
The only other adjustment was opacity.
I thought it looked nice at the beginning but now I really love it.

Just wish I could use it in Windows. :)
Not in windows long enough anyway though.

hm... then what about a facelift to the mint logo... so that it matches the green of the icons?

Already exists...
That's what he started from...
There are several icon themes that use these icons actually.
Pellucid is one of them.
XubuntuStudio is another one.

I agree with you about the colour Zwopper. If I get a chance I'll have a crack at a variation using the mint logo colours myself.

Please, make a cute icon to the recycle bin! And also we need apply a perspective on usb, firewire logos.
Basically, the base is good. But every PC of mine, receives a different icon set... its my tradition!
